There are sweaters and then there are sweaters.  This windproof sweater from Holebrook of Sweden (and they do know about cold weather in Sweden) definitely falls into the latter category.  Bulky knit cotton for the classic fisherman's sweater look, a small cozy stand-up collar, a 1/4 zipper neck for ventilation and a full soft poly lining for windproofing, water repellancy and to help it slide on easily.  That is how you make a substantial sweater that can be worn in place of a jacket.  And if you don't choose to challenge the elements in an open boat - consider this one outstanding classic sweater that is never out-of-style.  One of our favorite sweaters - in rich red.
